Defiant Strategies was formed as a collaborative consultancy to bring essential resources and bold solutions to nonprofit organizations. When the challenges of the times display chaotic and conflicting paths, a different way of addressing those challenges is necessary.

Rebecca is a compassionate nonprofit executive inspiring people, organizations, and teams to
deliver socially impactful results. She has repeated success driving strategic initiatives and building collaborative partnerships to address substantive issues. Rebecca has expertise in developing and delivering adaptive organizational strategies as well as funding, operations and communications strategies. With more than 25 years of nonprofit and consulting experience, Rebecca saw an urgent need in early 2025 to meet the moment and relaunched her private consulting practice as Defiant Strategies.

Strategic Advisory

Many of our clients enjoy a strategic advisory relationship where we have virtual meetings on a regular basis with members of the leadership team to identify and resolve current challenges, issues and successes. These sessions help guide our adaptive strategic solutions.

Strategic Planning

We offer traditional strategic planning services as well as adaptive planning services when times warrant bold measures. While our experience tells us to stay the course, in these uncertain times we must be prepared to pivot to meet the most pressing needs in our community.

Development and Communication Strategies

Many nonprofit development departments are struggling to keep up with fewer resources and greater needs. We will work with your development team to organize and implement actionable plans that will help you diversify your revenue streams, reach your goals and retain your team.

Board and Leadership Facilitation

When organizations are struggling with identity issues, purpose and leadership structures, it is helpful to have an objective facilitator to bring groups together in a collaborative format. Defiant Strategies offers facilitation services for leadership teams, boards, staff and volunteer groups. Through facilitated workshops, we work with your team to identify the key organizational priorities, challenges and goals with both short and long term views. Once the purpose is clear, we focus on the how, who and when which can inform leadership roles and needs.
